Hosted by the Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting & Finance, this conference aims to provide an international forum for scholars and practitioners to present cutting-edge research and exchange ideas on the evolving landscape of finance and trade in the context of digital economies in emerging economies with a particular focus on China.
Motivation and Justification
The rapid advancement of digital technologies has transformed the financial landscape and trade practices globally, and China is at the forefront of this transformation. As the world’s second-largest economy, China’s digital economy has become a critical driver of growth, influencing various sectors, including finance, trade, and governance. This conference seeks to explore the recent advancements in finance and trade issues in digital economies, addressing both opportunities and challenges.
The theme of this conference is particularly relevant as it aligns with global trends towards digitization and the increasing importance of digital financial instruments, platforms, and policies. By focusing on finance and trade issues in digital economies, we aim to foster discussions that can lead to innovative solutions and insights beneficial to both academia and industry.

Paper Submissions
The deadline for paper submission is December 31, 2024. Please submit two PDF files: one with a title page including author information (including emails) and one anonymous manuscript (without title page) to SLICF@lixin.edu.cn. Use “Submission to 2025 International Conference on Finance and Trade” as the title of your email. There is no submission fee. We only consider papers in English. Submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by the program committee. Authors will be notified of the review committee’s decision by January 15, 2025.
Publication opportunities
A subset of papers will be invited to be submitted to the special issue of the Emerging Markets Finance and Trade. Special Issue Editor(s) (Dr. Xuewu Wang, the University of Delaware,xwwang@udel.edu, Dr. Yuan-Teng Hsu, ythsu@sbs.edu.cn) will expedite the review process of invited papers by using the regular paper submission standards at these journals. We expect the special issues will appear at the end of 2025. While presenting a paper at the conference is not a prerequisite to be included in a special issue, we give preference to those presented papers.

Participant Registration
We welcome participants from both academia and industry. There will be no registration fees. Presenters and discussants attending the conference onsite are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses. More information will be provided closer to the conference date.
