Hosted by the Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting & Finance, this international conference aims to bring together leading scholars, researchers, and practitioners from around the world to present cutting-edge research and exchange innovative ideas on the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) and the digital economy. With a special focus on emerging economies, particularly China, the conference aims to explore AI's transformative role in reshaping industries, governance, and economic structures. It offers a premier interdisciplinary forum for discussing theoretical advancements, empirical findings, policy implications, and practical applications within the context of digital transformation.
Motivation and Justification
The rapid advancement of digital technologies has profoundly reshaped the global financial landscape and trade practices. China, as the world’s second-largest economy, stands at the forefront of this transformation. Its digital economy has emerged as a critical engine of growth, exerting significant influence across multiple sectors, including finance, trade, and governance. This conference is motivated by the need to critically examine recent developments in artificial intelligence (AI) and the digital economy, with a particular focus on the opportunities and challenges they present.
The theme of the conference is especially timely, as it aligns closely with global trends toward digitization and the growing prominence of digital financial instruments, platforms, and policy frameworks. By concentrating on finance and trade issues within digital economies, the conference aims to stimulate scholarly and practical dialogues that yield innovative solutions and actionable insights—benefiting both academia and industry alike.

Paper Submissions
The deadline for paper submission isAugust 10, 2026. Please submit two PDF files: one with a title page including author information (including emails) and one anonymous manuscript (without title page) to lirh@lixin.edu.cn. Use “Submission to 2026International Conference on Finance and Trade” as the title of your email. There is no submission fee. We only consider papers in English. Submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by the program committee. Authors will be notified of the review committee’s decision byAugust 20, 2025.
Publication opportunities
A subset of papers will be invited to be submitted to the Emerging Markets Finance and Trade. Special Issue Editor(s) (Dr. Xuewu Wang, the University of Delaware,xwwang@udel.edu, Dr. Yuan-Teng Hsu, ythsu@sbs.edu.cn) will expedite the review process of invited papers by using the regular paper submission standards at these journals. We expect the special issues to appear in 2027. While presenting a paper at the conference is not a prerequisite to be included in a special issue, we give preference to those presented papers.

Participant Registration
We welcome participants from both academia and industry. There will be no registration fees. Presenters and discussants attending the conference onsite are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses. More information will be provided closer to the conference date.
